About Me

I call both Detroit, MI and Jackson, MS home. I  graduated from Jackson State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education. She became certified and taught both middle and high school getting acquainted with testing, Common Core Initiatives, and International Baccalaureate programs. As a teacher she is passionate about literature and learning.  Her goal in her teaching is to create inclusionary, revolutionary learning environments that make a difference in the world while giving some insight on the complex, ever-changing world of education. As an educator she is quite stern and passionate about what she does. While she holds high standards for herself and her students, she also support students and meet them where they are. As an advocate, she is an activist in the community with organizations such as the NEA, MAE, and Thurgood Marshall College Fund's Teacher Quality and Retention Program that has gained foundation for her budding career. She also helps young girls and boys outside of the classroom with community work promoting self-awareness, happiness, and self-care within students.
